Our Pastors

Dan Johnson

Senior Pastor

djohnson@fccwilmar.org

Dan has a passion for helping people to answer the question, “What on earth am I here for?” He believes that God has a unique purpose for each one of us and until we discover that purpose, we will never experience a full and significant life. And because God created all of us with a God-shaped vacuum in our hearts, it is only through a personal and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ that we can know this God and communicate with Him.

He has a vision for a healthy church glorifying God by loving lost and hurting people into God’s family, training and healing found people, and sending God-empowered and enthusiastic believers to the ends of the earth with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Dan has been married to his wife, Faith, for 30 wonderful years and deeply appreciates her friendship and partnership in ministry. He is the proud father of two sons, one of them an Air Force pilot and the other a freshman in high school.  He enjoys any time spent with his family whether that be traveling, playing games, or just being together. He also likes to watch his sons do anything. One of his pastimes is knocking the golf ball around.

Dan has been the Senior Pastor at First Covenant Church since April, 2000. He received his BA in Bible from Biola University, La Mirada, CA, graduating in 1974. In 1985 he received his Master of Divinity degree from North Park Seminary in Chicago, IL. He has served in the Evangelical Covenant Church since 1984.
